This is too funny not to mention.

e360, the spammer who is suing Spamhaus for calling him a spammer (and has been lying to the court claiming that Spamhaus lives in Illinois rather than the UK) conned judge Kocoras into granting a motion against Spamhaus in the U.S. District Court of Northern Mississippi, served on Tucows, to seize spamhaus.org from Tucows.

The thing is, spamhaus.org is registered via Gandi, in France.

If the judge is that easily duped into granting a motion, that's not really a good sign.

The whole thing has been going on for months. Spamhaus started by disclaiming jurisdiction (they live in .uk), but apparently used the wrong form so the judge thinks he has control and issued a default judgment. The spammer claimed that Spamhaus lives in Illinois.

Meanwhile, the case is under appeal so I expect the judge to get his head handed to him by a superior court in the near future.

It doesn't really matter. Consider the size of the US companies that are anti-spam (e.g. remember who owns Hotmail?).
